Welcome to TextAloud MP3
========================
TextAloud MP3 lets you listen to text you copy to the clipboard. It uses 'Text to Speech'
technology which actually synthesizes human sounding speech from ordinary text. Just copy
text to the clipboard and listen as TextAloud MP3 reads it back to you !
TextAloud MP3 also gives you the option of reading text and saving it to a file so you can
listen later. You can create ordinary wav files, or better yet, save the output in
compressed MP3 format. Create MP3 files from your email, news articles, any text you want,
download to your portable MP3 player and off you go !
Installing TextAloud MP3
========================
The installation program will normally install one 'voice' on your computer, along with the
TextAloud software. The voice, named 'Mary' is one of three voices available with the
Microsoft Text-To-Speech engine. Speech engines are available from other vendors, but the
Microsoft engine is currently the only one supported. 'Mike' and 'Sam', the other two
Microsoft voices, are easy to install. Just visit our web site, http://www.nextuptech.com
and follow the instructions.
Using TextAloud MP3
===================
As text is copied to the clipboard, TextAloud MP3 loads the text as individual 'articles'.
Two modes are available : Single-Article, and Multi-Article. Use Single-Article mode to
have TextAloud read one article at a time. Each article loaded into TextAloud replaces the
previous article; an option is available to automatically read each article as it is loaded.
Use Multi-Article mode to load several articles before letting TextAloud MP3 read them. If
you want to read the articles to a file, you have the option of saving all articles in one
audio file, or creating one file for each article.
